MR DIAGONAL (after-dinner rock ‘n’ roll)
Mr Diagonal, Prime Minister of Pop is a Scottish-born pianist/singer-songwriter
based in Brussels. Mr Diagonal’s Midlife Crisis is a mutation of his Black Light Orchestra, pioneers of Brussels’ Sprout Rock scene. Rooted firmly in the anglo-saxon freak scene with a nod to music hall and uncool jazz (ref: Noel Coward, Kurt Weil, Harry Nilssen, Ivor Cutler, Divine Comedy) his music has been described as ‘Noel Coward on mushrooms’ and ‘a kind of adult Muppet show’
His late(st) album, with a pronounced retro flavour, is a semi-autobiographical concept album about the male menopause to highlight some of the hidden facettes of mr Diagonal’s tortured soul.
